My name is Kimberly Jones! I am a Los Angeles-based Therapist, Coach and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionistic tendencies, obsessive thinking, low self-worth, paralyzing avoidance, uncertainty around goals and next steps, relationship issues, women's related issues (fertility, sex/intimacy, sexuality, identity, etc.) and assisting families of individuals who grapple with mental illness.

Throughout my work, I have discovered that I have a particular aptitude for helping perfectionists, people-pleasers, intellectually gifted, unyielding overachievers, obsessive ruminators, and rigid thinkers learn to cultivate self-compassion, flexibility, acceptance, joy, and fulfillment. My work with these individuals, in particular, has inspired me to develop specific practices, protocols, and templates that elicit greater willingness in clients and aid in a better understanding of useful therapeutic tools and concepts. Presently, my passion and focus are on providing a healing space for individuals struggling with these issues and working with other clinicians to be able to do the same so that more help is available to those in need.

Background and Education

I received my Master of Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, I hold licenses in California, Massachusetts, and Michigan. My training and background involve several evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). I received my initial training at Harvard University's McLean Hospital and have completed intensive training with The Behavioral Tech Institute. I am always continually developing innovative, more effective ways to help clients manage their unique symptoms and stressors, which has inspired me to pursue further training in Mindfulness, Breathwork, and Yogic techniques.

I have worked in various therapeutic settings, including Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient (OP), and a Comprehensive DBT OP clinic. I presently own and operate my private practice and consulting business, LightHeart.Mindfulness.

My Approach

Therapy: Our work together would focus on helping you gain greater clarity about what you want for yourself and identify the barriers preventing you from creating the life you deserve. Together, we will work to cultivate equanimity, deepen self-love, strengthen relationships, and move closer to a life worth living. Ultimately, I want to assist you in creating meaningful and lasting change in your life.

Coaching: My coaching process supports your emotional well-being and provides practical strategies and solutions to help you achieve meaningful transformation.  Although therapy and therapeutic coaching may sometimes appear similar, they serve different purposes. Coaching offers greater flexibility to meet an individual's unique needs and circumstances, which may not always be possible within the structure of individual therapy.

*Please note that coaching services are not appropriate for all clients. My ability to provide coaching services is based upon my thorough clinical assessment, and the appropriateness of coaching services is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Consulting & Training: My role is to help you, your team, or your organization identify goals, understand barriers to growth, and implement meaningful change. Together, we will develop strategies to foster healthy, effective workplace cultures and enhance client care. I provide practical knowledge and evidence-based tools to support organizational growth, clinician development, and client progress. When therapists feel supported and confident in their skills, they are better equipped to show up for their clients.
